A spiny orb-weaver #spider (Gasteracantha cancriformis). I love these. I remember first learning about them in my copy of Spider & Their Kin Golden Guide as a kid (still have the exact copy, love the Golden Guides), but I had never seen a live one until a few years ago (it was a really exciting moment finding the first one). This lovely lady had built her massive web spanning the width of my chicken run. I had to carefully navigate my way under it to take this photo. #nature #macro #outdoors
